The Indiana Gaming Commission has recently given renowned daily fantasy sports (DFS) and sports betting operator FanDuel the greenlight to offer mobile sports betting in the state. The expansion into the new state is facilitated through its partnership with GAN which will now be extended. This launch is also the second major move that the company is making in Indiana after its entry into the state last month as a retail sports betting provider.

The FanDuel mobile sportsbook will the third one to go live in Indiana and the two competitors it will have to face off against are DraftKings and BetRivers. Both of these mobile sports betting providers debuted their operations in Indiana earlier this month which gives them a little headstart.

One App for All

Indiana aside, FanDuel already boasts of a strong presence in New Jersey and Pennsylvania where its sports betting app is the number one choice for most bettors. The company is known for its customer-centric strategy and one of the ways it has been pursuing this is through the launch of a single app that can be used across all the states that it is licensed to operate in. Most of its competitors still offer separate apps for each and every state and this might be a deal-breaker for some users.

“Now all sports fans in Indiana can see for themselves why we’re the number one online sportsbook in the country,” said Mike Raffensperger, FanDuel’s chief marketing officer.

With the app, the sports bettors will be able to bet on money lines, point spreads, parlays, over/under, teasers, round robins, prop bets, parlays and in-game wagers among others.

FanDuel’s Partnerships

When it entered the Indiana betting market, it partnered with Boyd Gaming, a Las Vegas-based gaming and hospitality company. They went on to launch two sportsbooks at the Belterra Casino Resort in Florence and Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa in Michigan City.

FanDuel’s partnership with Boyd Gaming is also going to facilitate its mobile sports betting operation. The app will operate under a Certificate of Authority that the Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa issued.

To increase its brand exposure in Indiana, FanDuel has also recently partnered with the Indianapolis Colts, one of the NFL franchises. As per the terms of the exclusive partnership, FanDuel is now the Official Fantasy Sports Partner of the Indianapolis. While the deal does not entail sports betting, it will certainly be a big boost since it will allow FanDuel to engage both new and existing fans.
