For the very first time, the Unibet UK Poker Tour event will be hosted at the Milton Keynes-based The Casino MK. While the venue is considered to be one of United Kingdom’s most luxurious casinos and boasts of having a sizeable poker room, the Casino has perhaps never hosted the Unibet UK Poker Tour because it is usually not considered to be a venue that is synonymous with such major live poker events. The event is set to feature a £40,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em tournament and will run from March 15 to March 17.

Created back in 2017, the Unibet UK Poker Tour has gone on to run a total of nine events with each of the tournaments featuring £220 buy-ins as well as a £40,000 guaranteed prize pool. In addition to that, the tournament also offers the player one reentry on each of the event’s starting flights. As if that is not enough, the players will also be given the option to play both Day 1A and Day 1B after which they will be able to take their largest stack with them to Day 2 should they manage to progress from both of the starting flights mentioned earlier. These features, by themselves, already makes the UK poker tour one of the very best poker tournaments in the world.

What to Expect

This year, the Unibet UK Poker Tour will feature four stops and whoever takes it down will win a huge chunk of the prize pool, a customized trophy, and a €2,000 Unibet Open package. The winner will not be the only one getting rewarded though – the tournament’s organizers will also be giving away €2,000 to the online qualifier that will last longest during the games.

Since it was launched, Unibet UK Poker Tour has built quite the reputation for itself in the poker tournament scene. Last year, for instance, the poker tour awarded its biggest prizes to the player ho managed to outlast all the others. Michael Tucknott, the player, managed to top a field of about 327 entries to bag the £14,220 payout – this came after an action-packed heads-up battle with Jason Westbury. In 2019, the poker event organizers are reportedly going to set the bar higher by giving a cash prize of a similar amount or the largest that it has ever given.

Unibet, the company behind the poker tournament left the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) about five years and it has since started its own standalone online poker network which has picked off quite well. In March, Unibet will be celebrating through the addition of a  €15,000 to five low stakes tournaments that will give the customers even more options.
