About a year ago, Kindred Group partnered with the digital gaming division of Scientific Gaming. While the partnership between the two companies was not exclusive since both companies have other partners, the deal represented a powerful development especially for Kindred which has been very keen on building worthwhile connections as it extends its footprint in the United States.
Now, the two companies have taken the next step forward with their partnership by launching two new platforms in New Jerseys online gambling market. Kindred’s Open Gaming System (OGS) and Open Platform System (OPS), the two new platforms, are both based on technology from Scientific Gaming’s SG Digital subsidiary.
Open Gaming System (OGS) is a solution that is meant to address the growing need for game aggregation technology while pen Platform System (OPS) is a player account management platform. As such the launch of the two platforms alongside each other was a strategic move since they complement each other in some ways.
“Partnering with Scientific Games to bring world-class content and back-end functionality to New Jersey is a big win as U.S. iGaming gains traction. We’re excited to elevate the player experience in New Jersey using the OGS and OPS platforms,” Manuel Stan, the Senior Vice President USA at Kindred Group Plc commented on the partnership.
As it stands, the partnership deal between SG Digital and the Kindred Group is still limited to New Jersey but both companies are hoping to extend the program with the support of other states. This might happen very soon as gambling activities are steadily getting legalized and regulated across a number of states. When this happens, Kindred has promised to make the best out of its US presence by offering gamers in the country exciting and immersive gaming experiences thanks to the access they have to a comprehensive and prove suite of technology.
Kindred’s Other Plans
Kindred has also become the latest member to join the ranks of industry trade association iDEA Growth – now the association boasts of a total of 25 members. iDEA growth is an advocate for the legalization of mobile gambling and it has made gambling advocacy its agenda, a goal that it has been pursuing through testimonies to several state legislatures.
Kindred will certainly be a key beneficiary of iDEA Growth’s plan to unify the industry in order to deliver a clear and consistent voice of innovation while “using technology to modernize approaches to safe, responsible gaming”. Moreover Kindred will be bringing over 20 year worth of experience in the global gambling market to the association and this will go a long way in helping iDEA Growth to achieve its goals.
