The sports betting expansion in the United States continues to take shape in a number of different ways with many operators capitalizing on the nascent and rapidly growing sector. Major League Baseball has been one of the entities that have been working towards solidifying their presence in the sports betting industry. Recently, the league has expanded its reach to a totally new sports betting platform.

The new partnership deal is with The Stars Group’s and FOX Sports’ Fox Bet app, which now becomes the league’s fourth official gaming partner. The MLB has similar deals in place with FanDuel, DraftKings and MGM Resorts all of which are popular sports betting brands in the country.

As per the terms of the deal, FOX Bet is now a part of the MLB’s Authorized Gaming Operator program which therefore means that it will be able to use the official MLB data feed and league marks. This will include real-time game statistics which will allow for in-play sports betting on games – this has been a highly anticipated featured especially considering the fact that baseball is one of the most popular sports in the United States.

“Having a partnership with MLB enables us to use official MLB data and league marks, providing a better experience for our customers and comes just in time as the League Championship Series and the World Series kick into high gear,” Robin Chhabra, the chief executive of FOX Bet said.

On top of collaborating to deliver the best sports betting experience, the MLB and The Stars Group are also going to be working together in order to promote responsible gambling. The partnership will also see them working together to ensure that there are better measures put in place in order to protect the integrity of the league’s games.

Further Expansion in the Future

The Stars Group has big plans for the country’s sports betting market and it has been making moves to ensure that it has the capacity to set the pace in that sector. Recently, it announced a merger with Flutter Entertainment that is worth $11 billion, a deal that will create the largest sports betting market in terms of revenue. Its partnership with FOX Sports is one of the most lucrative sports betting partnerships since the United States Supreme Court lifted the federal ban on sports betting last year in May.

The FOX Bet sports betting app is currently available to sports bettors in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There is also the Fox Sports Super 6 free-to-play game that is available nationwide on the app. The app will soon be available to users in other states as well. So, do stay tuned for that.
