Following the massive success of the Responsible Gambling Week of 2018, organizations, business and other stakeholder’s in Britain’s gambling industry will once again come together for the Responsible Gambling Week 2019 which has just recently been announced by the Industry Group for Responsible Gambling (IGRG).

Set to take place between November 7 and 13, the event is expected to bring together every sector of the online gambling industry through its member trade associations. They include the British Amusement Machine Association (BACTA); the Remote Gambling Association (RGA); The Bingo Association (BA); National Casino Forum (NCF) and the Association of British Bookmakers. These organizations will participate in talks and contribute to ideas pertaining to the common objective of the event which is to raise awareness for safer and responsible gambling. In addition to that, this year there will be a special focus on encouraging staff members, the consumers and the public, in general, to have more discussions about the issue of problem gambling hence the headline theme: Let’s Talk About Safer Gambling.

Building on Last Years’ Success

As mentioned earlier, last year’s Responsible Gambling Week yielded some very impressive results through huge engagements. The participants included over 12,000 gambling facilities and websites, and 120,000 employees across the United Kingdom. By the time it ended it had created a little over 20 million impressions on various social media platforms which is pretty amazing, even by today’s standards. The Industry Group for Responsibly Gambling (IGRG) seeks to build on these impressive results in a bid to clean up the industry to make it safer for both the consumers and the gaming service providers.

“Social responsibility is fundamental to the gambling industry’s approach, and we are all dedicated, year-round, to promoting safer gambling. But what makes Responsible Gambling Week special is that the whole industry is united and engaged to highlight safer gambling to a broader audience,” John Hagan, the Chairman of the IGRG commented.

The chairman also assured everyone that last year’s event set a new benchmark that he is confident will be adhered to with the assistance and cooperation of the operators, charities as well as information networks.

Needless to say, the announcement of the Responsible Gambling Week 2019 has come quite early this time but it is for good reason. According to the chairman of the IGRG, this will give the operators sufficient time to plan further and build support frameworks. Most importantly, the extended time period between the announcement and the actual event will allow for the establishment of broader support bases and complementary communication networks. Moreover, it will give the participants more room to refine the message theme for the Responsible Gambling Week.
