The CardPlayer Magazine rankings and the Poker Index Standings are by far the two most recognized Player of the Year races in the world of tournament poker – in both cases “High Roller” tournaments have contributed immensely to the listings and for the very first time those style of tournaments will be getting their own dedicated tournament schedule.

This news was confirmed last Friday when Poker Central announced the summer schedule for the “High Roller of the Year” award. For this particular tournament, the poker streaming outlet has partnered with some of the most popular poker entities in Las Vegas as well as a number of notable names in the online poker industry including the Bellagio, the World Series of Poker, ARIA Casino Resort and the L.A. Poker Classic in Los Angeles. The partnership will see the entities put together a 35-event roster which will feature buy-ins from $10,000 to as much as $100,000.

Already, part of the 35-event schedule has already been completed, with the U.S. Poker Open (10 tournaments) that went down in March putting their results into the mix along with three High Roller events from the L.A. Poker Classic. In addition to that, there is set to be another four months on poker action most of which will be filmed at the PokerGO Studios that is located at the site of ARIA – the ARIA High Roller Series is known for hosting up to four events every month each having buy-ins of between $10,000 and $25,000. These events are what will make up a huge chunk of the summer schedule for the High Roller of the Year poker action.

The remaining events of the summer schedule will be shared between the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the Bellagio – as it stands, two tournament events are going down at the Bellagio and the winning players from this leaderboard are set to be added to the leaderboard of the High Roller of the Year. Moreover, the Bellagio is set to feature three more events in June including a $10,000 Short Deck Hold’em tournament as well as two other $10,000 No Limit Hold’em tournaments.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) events
