Playtech Unveils Expanded Bingo Portfolio in Italy

Playtech has today announced the launch of an expanded Playtech Bingo platform tailored specifically for the Italian gaming market. The new bingo offering will be available to players through the William Hill, Snai and Sisal brands – the number of brands is expected to increase over the next months in order to allow the company to further extend its reach in the Italian market.

The move to venture into the Italian bingo market was partly prompted by the approval, introduction and subsequent update of a new protocol by the Italian gaming regulators. Referred to as the PBAD3 protocol, the regulators’ new product allowed various operators to offer online Bingo variants to Italian customers. Playtech which is considered to the leading omnichannel gaming company on the planet launched its bingo platform on February 26 and it is now the very first one in the industry to take advantage of the updated protocol to offer an expanded Bingo portfolio. As such, Playtech will now be able to effortlessly deliver its new variants of the famous Bingo game aimed specifically at the country’s market. The omnichannel gaming company will also be able to replicate its top-notch international gaming products in order to cater to players in Italy.

What’s New?

Before the approval of the new protocol, the only missing piece of the country’s gaming regulatory framework was the opportunity for licensed operators to offer online Bingo variations. In fact, the protocols that existed before the new one was approved prevented all the licensees from offering the same levels of flexibility in gaming products that are typically found in international gaming markets. The PBAD3 protocol is, therefore, a very welcomed change.

“Becoming the first platform in Italy to make the most of the updated protocol is a significant moment in developing our offering in one of our key markets. The speed with which we have been able to expand our platform and products in Italy reflects our commitment to growing and building our offering in new and existing regulated markets,” Angus Nisbet, the Managing Director of Digital Bingo at Playtech, commented.

Playtech’s updated Bingo portfolio includes the addition of the two-line prize and 75 ball UK bingo. There are also several new variants all of which are in compliance with the new PBAD3 protocol. Also, thanks to the massive capabilities of the new protocol, Playtech will now be able to roll out additional features on a wider range of devices and a broader variety of platforms. These include mobile and HTML5 as well as popular operating systems platforms including iOS and Android.

Playtech is known to partners to partner with and invests in some of the world’s leading brands in both already regulated and emerging markets to deliver its amazing data-driven gaming technology across both retail and online value chains. Its presence in Italy is now part of its global expansion plans as it explores the extension of its outstanding gaming products to newer markets.
